Dean serves as Partner, Portfolio Operations and is responsible for driving growth and operational excellence across Truehelm’s portfolio companies through a robust Value Creation Plan (VCP) program and by identifying and implementing key initiatives tailored to each company’s needs. He joined Truehelm in 2014. He also develops and leads a variety of cross-company executive councils to support the development of best practices across Truehelm’s portfolio. Dean sits on the firm’s Investment Committee, Valuation Committee, and ESG Committee.

Dean has over 35 years of leadership and operational experience across a vast array of industries and competencies. Coming to Truehelm after eight years as an Operating Executive with TPG Capital, one of the world’s largest private equity firms, Dean brings a deep operational skillset and unique background, providing valuable guidance and support to healthcare companies that seek to balance rapid growth with stable operating and financial controls.

Prior to his tenure at TPG, Dean served as President and CEO of Silver Oak Solutions before driving a successful acquisition by a multibillion-dollar international conglomerate. He has also held executive and management roles at General Electric and was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Co. He started his career as a Combat Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army, and later earned his credentials as a Professional Engineer.

Dean holds a B.S. in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering from U.S. Military Academy West Point and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He serves on the board of the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, where he has helped raise $30 million in scholarships for over 5,000 children of fallen U.S. soldiers.
